Shop Hop

Friday, May 3
9:30am – 6:00 pm
Minimum Enrollment: 16 people
Maximum Enrollment: 25 people

Sit back and relax as we visit three fabulous shops in northern New Jersey. Our private coach will pick us up at the group hotel and whisk us off to Needleworker’s Delight where we will shop and enjoy a complimentary lunch. From there, we head to Edwardian Needle and Ridgewood Needlepoint for lots more stash enhancement. Along the way, we’ll have games, prizes, and snacks to tide us over until we arrive back at the hotel, around 6pm.

On-Board Classes

Walking the Water’s Edge

Walking the Water's Edge by Diane Herrmann

Teacher: Diane Herrmann
Sunday, May 5 (Cruise Day 2, Sea Day)
9:00am – 4:00pm (one hour break for lunch)
Requirements: This class is suitable for stitchers of all levels.

Students will have the option of stitching on canvas the color of traditional tan sand or the soft pink of Bermuda’s iconic pink beaches to create the perfect souvenir. The Bargello technique creates the waves and a variety of eyelets make the “foam” at the water’s edge. The final touches include a starfish made up of a set of bullion stitches, and beads for just that bit of sparkle you often see on a sunny day at the beach.

Bermuda Shore Excursion

This excursion is exclusive to our group and you will register through Stitchers’ Escapes rather than RCCL. Therefore, you will not find it listed with the general RCCL excursions on your “My Cruises” page.

Afternoon Tea at the Hamilton Princess Hotel

Monday, May 6, 2019 (Cruise Day 3)
No minimum enrollment
Maximum Enrollment: 40 people

Enjoy a traditional British tea in an elegant setting! The Hamilton Princess Hotel first opened in 1885 and is just a five minute walk to the main shopping area of Hamilton. In addition to serving a world class tea, it houses one of the world’s best hotel art collections. We have reserved a 3:00 seating for our group. Members of Bermuda’s stitching guild will be invited to join us.

Please note:
Due to the lack of charter buses and the ease of traveling by public bus or ferry from the ship’s dock to the city of Hamilton, we are not including group transportation in this activity. Jean will be happy to escort anyone from the ship to the ferry on Monday morning. Once the ferry docks in Hamilton, she plans to wander the city until it is time for tea. You will be welcome to join her or explore on your own.

After the tea, you will have the option of extending your time in Hamilton or to explore other areas of Bermuda or to return to the ship. Keep in mind that we will be docked overnight and so there will be no need to rush back to the ship. Jean and Elizabeth will be happy to assist you in planning your return to the ship but they will not be able to escort each person back to the ship.
