The activities offered during our cruises vary depending on the event.
Our “Escape to” cruises typically have on-board classes and group excursions which are both add-ons to the cruise fare. On these cruises, activity registration opens about seven months prior to the sailing date.
Our FlossTube@Sea cruises are retreat-style with the on-board event space dedicated to general stitching. Typically each FlossTube host will offer a presentation, and the materials are included in the cruise fare. Depending on the itinerary, we may also organize one group excursion. When we have an excursion, it is an add-on to the cruise fare and registration opens about seven months prior to the sailing date.
The Activity Registration Application
The activity registration application has between 4-6 steps depending on the activities offered and your registration type.
Step 1: Contact Information
- Preferred Name – this is the name you prefer to be called. This is how we’ll address you when we communicate with you. For example, if your name is Susan and you go by Susie, use Susie here.
- Email Address – be sure to use an email address you actually check. We know many people have a “throw away” or “junk” email address they use for things like store rewards programs, but please don’t use that here. After you submit your registration, we need to contact you to confirm your place. We also send you important stuff like your invoice and our pre-cruise newsletter series. Our invoicing system does not easily allow changes to email addresses once we send an invoice. We also need to be able to contact you with questions about your registration. We send very few emails otherwise, and never sell your contact information.
- Mobility Concerns – we ask if you have any mobility concerns, such as using a walker, wheelchair or motorized scooter. This helps us provide the most comfortable experience we can for you on the excursion.
- Dietary Concerns – if any of the excursions include a meal, we’ll ask about dietary concerns, such as allergies or a special diet. We’ll work with you to determine the best way to accommodate your needs during the meal.
- Are you paying the Activity Fees for your Traveling Companion
- Answer “yes” if you want to include your cabin mate or traveling companion in your registration and pay their activity fees. You will receive one invoice.
- Note that the form is designed to be used for a maximum of 2 people paying together. If you have a triple occupancy cabin, we’ll reach out with instructions. Otherwise, if you need to register and pay for more than two people, please contact us ahead of time for assistance.
- Answer “no” if you are only paying for yourself. If you need to register on behalf of someone else who will pay their own fees, you need to submit a separate form for them
- Answer “yes” if you want to include your cabin mate or traveling companion in your registration and pay their activity fees. You will receive one invoice.
- Activity Types – when we offer both classes and excursions, the form includes checkboxes to select which activity types you want to include. Check both “Classes” and “Excursions” if you want to register yourself and/or your traveling companion for both types. Otherwise, check only the box for the type you want to include.
Step 2: Traveling Companion Registration
We hide this step if you state you are not paying the Activity Fees for your Traveling Companion. The remaining step numbers will be different.
- Their Preferred Name – as mentioned above, this is the name they prefer to be called. This is how we’ll address them when we communicate with them. For example, if their name is Susan and they go by Susie, use Susie here.
- Their Email Address – please include an email address for your traveling companion in case we need to get in touch with both of you with a question. If you don’t want us to contact them, enter your email address again.
- Mobility Concerns – (see above)
- Dietary Concerns – (if applicable; see above)
- Payment Acknowledgement – we ask you to confirm that you will pay the Activity Fees for your Traveling Companion, and give you the opportunity to change your selection if you don’t intend to pay for them.
Step 3: Excursions
Excursions are listed by day. Each excursion has the following fields:
For excursions with places available:
- Quantity – enter the number of people for whom you’re registering
- Attendee Names – if you are paying for your traveling companion, you’ll see this field to enter the names of the people attending this particular excursion
For sold out excursions:
- Waiting List Selection – choose whether or not you want to join the waiting list
- Waiting List Quantity – if you are paying for your traveling companion, you’ll see this field to select who to place on the waiting list: just you, you and your traveling companion, or just your traveling companion
If you did not select Excursions as one of your activity types, you’ll still see this step, but with a note stating you opted not to register for excursions. You’ll be able to go back and change your selection.
Step 4: Classes
Classes are listed by day. The fields for each class vary.
All classes have:
- Quantity – enter the number of people for whom you’re registering. All classes have this field, and if you enter a number, the additional fields related to that class appear
- Attendee Names – if you are paying for your traveling companion, you’ll see this field to enter the names of the people attending this particular class
- Waiting List Selection – choose whether or not you want to join the waiting list if you do not get a place in the class
Classes may also have:
- Registration Type
- Full Attendee – full attendees get a seat in the classroom to attend the in-person instruction
- Ghost – ghost attendees do not have a seat in the classroom to attend the in-person instruction. They receive the kit and instructional materials to complete the project entirely on their own
- Fabric Type – some teachers offer different fabric options if appropriate for the project. This can include different types, such as aida or linen. It can also include different color options.
Class Choice Ranking
In the Class Choice Ranking field, list your classes in order of preference. Consider your choices as a whole, not day-by-day. If you are paying for your traveling companion and you have different preferences, include a list for each of your names.
If you did not select Classes as one of your activity types, you’ll still see this step, but with a note stating you opted not to register for excursions. You’ll be able to go back and change your selection.
Step 5: Other Details
This step has a field to enter any additional information you want to relay to the cruise planning team.
It also includes our acknowledgements:
- Excursion Terms – if your registration includes excursions, you will acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to the details about the excursion listed in the full description on the Excursion page
- Refund Policy – you will acknowledge that you have read and agreed to Stitchers Escapes’ refund policy
- Photo Policy – you will acknowledge that you have read and agree to the Stitchers Escapes photo policy
Step 6: Review
You’ll be able to review your entries and navigate back to any of the previous steps to make changes before submitting.
Registration Acknowledgment
After you submit your form, you will see an on-screen confirmation. You’ll also receive an email from group.coordinator@stitchersescapes.com with a copy of your submission.
We review each request, and contact you if we have questions. If your application is only for excursions, we send your invoice within 10 business days. If your application includes classes, we begin class assignments on the a date specified for each cruise, and send invoices after that. The dates are outlined on the cruise’s class listing page and in your application confirmation email
Activity Registration FAQs
General Activity Registration Questions
- the list of classes and excursions you want to take
- your ranked choice list for your classes
- your email address
We use our ranked choice system for class assignments to prevent our guests from missing out on classes entirely. As long as you register by the initial deadline stated on the class information page for the cruise you’re attending, we treat your application the same as if you registered on opening day.
We fill excursions on a first-come, first-served basis. However, they have much higher maximum enrollment than classes. While we cannot guarantee they won’t fill on the first day, in most cases there is still space available after the first day.
You will need to submit two separate registration forms, one for each of you. Make sure you have your traveling companion’s email address handy; you will need to use it for their registration form.
Once you complete your form, enter a separate form for them. The confirmation page will include a link to start a new form.
The registration application includes a place for you to add additional information for the planning team. Include a note there to state that you only want to register for activities if everyone in your party is in them.
Include each person’s name. We can review your application more efficiently if everyone in the party includes the same note, so we know you are all in agreement.
If your note only applies to some activities, indicate that.
When we have to split an excursion into multiple groups, we always make sure that cabin mates are in the same group.
We also review your cruise registration to see if you listed any other traveling companions not sharing your cabin. If you did not complete that field on your cruise registration, or you’re not sure, use the “Additional Information” field on the activity registration application to list anyone you want us to group you with. It’s helpful if those people also list you on their application.
If a class has a ghost option (this is up to the discretion of the individual teachers), you can request a ghost registration in addition to a spot on the waiting list. If a spot opens up, we will move you to full attendance, otherwise you’ll receive the kit and instructional materials.
If you’ve already submitted a registration application, please do not submit a new one.
If you need to make a change to your registration, reply to your confirmation email or email us at group.coordinator@stitchersescapes.com. Be sure to include the name of your cruise in your subject line.
If you are submitting a registration for someone else, you will need to use their email address.
